发布于阅读约5分钟

Quinn Langston撰写

Biltmore Estate is an 8,000-acre estate in Asheville, North Carolina, with Biltmore House, gardens and a Conservatory, Antler Hill Village & Winery, a working Farmyard, shops, dining and outdoor activities.

If you’re planning Asheville in December, Biltmore Christmas offers a seasonal reason to set aside time for the estate; a visit also takes planning because House entry is reserved and the grounds cover a large area. The two-star Asheville hotel is in the city used as the starting point for this visit.

  • Location: Asheville, North Carolina.
  • Estate scale: 8,000 acres, with several distinct areas to visit.
  • Entry: Biltmore House requires a reserved entry time.
  • Time to allow: Biltmore recommends at least one full day.
What to expect at Biltmore Estate

What to expect at Biltmore Estate

Biltmore Estate brings together a historic house, gardens and visitor areas across an 8,000-acre estate. Biltmore House is a major focus, but the grounds also include the Conservatory, Antler Hill Village & Winery, a working Farmyard, shops, dining and outdoor activities.

Think of the estate as several destinations rather than one compact site. The Reception & Ticketing Sales Center is 3 miles from Biltmore House, and Biltmore House is 5 miles from Antler Hill Village & Winery. You’ll need to account for that travel when choosing what to fit around a reserved House entry.

If you’re planning time in the city as well, this practical guide to Asheville city centre can help you plan the rest of your visit.

Tickets and timed entry

Tickets and timed entry

Biltmore House entry requires a reservation every day, and you choose an entry time when purchasing your ticket. Late arrivals may not be accommodated, so allow time to reach the House and park before your slot.

House & Grounds admission includes a daytime visit to Biltmore House with an audio guide. A Grounds ticket covers the gardens and grounds, Antler Hill Village & Winery, complimentary wine tasting and parking, but does not include entry to Biltmore House.

Biltmore says all tickets include access to Antler Hill Village & Winery, 8,000 acres of gardens and grounds, complimentary wine tasting, complimentary parking and visit-date flexibility.

Biltmore says buying online in advance saves $10 per ticket compared with buying at the estate. Ticket prices vary by season, so check the official site before you go. For a House visit, Biltmore recommends arriving early to spend time in the gardens, grounds, shops and restaurants before your reserved entry.

Keep bags inside Biltmore House to no larger than 19 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches. Backpacks are not permitted on guided House tours.

How do you get from Asheville to the estate?

How do you get from Asheville to the estate?

Driving is Biltmore’s recommended way to get around the estate because its roads have no sidewalks, distances between areas are substantial and complimentary estate-wide shuttle transportation is not offered. Complimentary parking is included with admission.

For GPS, use the estate entrance address: 1 Lodge St, Asheville, NC 28803. Biltmore warns that a different address may send drivers to the wrong entrance. From Interstate 40 East, take Exit 50 (US Highway 25), turn left at the traffic light after exiting, then follow the signs to the Biltmore entrance.

If you arrive by rideshare or taxi, use the designated drop-off and pick-up lane by the Park & Ride Building at 79 Old Shiloh Rd, Asheville, NC 28803. That location is for drop-off and pick-up only, not transport between estate locations.

Biltmore Connect costs $15 per person per day and is free for children age 16 and younger. It connects the Reception & Ticketing Sales Center, Biltmore House and Antler Hill Village & Winery.

All Biltmore shuttles are accessible to wheelchair and stroller users; animals other than service animals are not allowed on shuttles. A complimentary round-trip ADA shuttle to Biltmore House departs from the Park & Ride Building, where accessible parking is available in Lot E.

A complimentary round-trip Garden Shuttle runs from Biltmore House to the Conservatory in the Walled Garden from April through December.

Biltmore at Christmas and other seasonal visits

Biltmore at Christmas and other seasonal visits

Biltmore’s Christmas program brings seasonal decorations and evening visits to Biltmore House. Candlelight Christmas Evenings evoke the Vanderbilt family’s first Christmas at Biltmore House in 1895, with candlelight and live music. These evening visits are by reservation, so check the official site before you go for current seasonal details.

Hours vary by day and season, although the estate is open every day. Your Biltmore House entry time is selected when you purchase and appears on your ticket. If you’re coordinating a trip around seasonal events in the city, this Asheville seasonal events guide offers related planning context.

How much time should you allow?

Biltmore recommends at least one full day for a visit, or two full days for a more complete experience. That advice makes sense when you factor in the estate’s scale and the distance between its main areas.

Build in at least 45 minutes to travel between estate locations and park before a reserved entry time. Arriving early gives you a chance to explore the gardens, grounds, shops and restaurants before your House visit.

If you want to include Antler Hill Village & Winery as well as the House and gardens, allow enough time for the drive between areas rather than treating them as adjoining stops.

For a shorter visit, decide in advance whether Biltmore House or the grounds are your priority: a Grounds ticket does not include House entry. For a fuller day, plan your reserved House time first, then arrange the other stops around it.
